About Titan

Titan is the largest chamber in the range and the only one that reaches treatment pressures above 2.4 ATA. It is built from steel rather than aluminium, in a modular cylindrical form, and is intended for permanent installation in medical centres, hospitals and dedicated hyperbaric clinics. The pressure range of 3.0 to 6.0 ATA covers indications that lower-pressure chambers cannot address, including decompression sickness and gas embolism.

The chamber is not portable. It arrives as modules 770 mm wide that pass through a standard doorway, and it needs two rooms: a technical room for the compressors, dryer and air tanks, and a chamber room for the vessel and fire suppression system. Titan is available in two body styles, Titan Square and Titan Omega.

Multiplace capacity

Configurations of 4+2, 6+2, 8+2, 10+2 or 12+2 patients, up to 14 seats in total. The +2 positions are for attendants who stay inside with the patients during treatment.

Steel pressure vessel

Steel construction rated to a maximum operating pressure of 5.0 bar, a maximum design overpressure of 5.5 bar and a testing overpressure of 8.25 bar. Overall dimensions are 7988 × 2356 × 2604 mm with a 2200 mm internal diameter.

Air generation and reserve

Three air generating units, four air stock tanks and an air cooler. Air supply flow is 450 LPM with a ventilation rate of 600 LPM. Emergency depressurisation runs from 3.0 ATA to 1.0 ATA in 125 seconds.

Monitoring and fire safety

Large-screen patient monitoring tracks heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, blood oxygen saturation and temperature in real time. Five fire suppression units are integrated into the chamber room installation.

Pure oxygen, precisely controlled

BIBS delivery. Oxygen reaches each occupant through the built-in breathing system at 5 bar and 40 LPM, so the chamber itself stays pressurised with breathable air rather than oxygen.

Filtered air supply. Air is drawn from the compressors, passed through the dryer, then through carbon, oil and microparticle filters to remove the water inherent in compressed air before it reaches the chamber.

Buffered pressure. Four air stock tanks hold reserve air so pressure stays stable through compression, treatment and decompression rather than tracking compressor duty cycles.

Operator control

Titan is run from an external control panel by an operator outside the chamber. The panel handles pressure adjustment, vital-sign monitoring and voice communication with the occupants, and it carries manual overrides and an emergency stop for situations where the automated sequence has to be interrupted.

External control computer. The central controller for the outside assistant, covering session setup, pressure profile, door locking and live monitoring.

Manual override. The chamber can be operated manually as well as through automated controls, which is a requirement for clinical installations working to hyperbaric safety standards.

An interior built for treatment

Seating is arranged along the chamber for patients with additional positions for attendants. Each patient has an entertainment tablet on a mobile arm, positioned rather than held, and monitoring screens are visible from the attendant seats as well as the control panel outside.

Planning a Titan installation

Titan needs more site preparation than the aluminium chambers in the range. Budget for two rooms, a 9000 × 6200 mm technical room and a 13000 × 6000 mm chamber room, plus power for a 110 kW compressor and access for module delivery. Nordic Welltech carries out a site survey before quoting.

Certifications

HPO.TECH states that its hyperbaric chambers are manufactured, tested and certified to the following standards:

ASME-PVHO · PED · CE · ISO · NFPA

Certification scope varies by configuration and destination market, and clinical installations at these pressures are usually subject to additional national requirements. Nordic Welltech will confirm the exact certificate set for your specification before order.
