Buying Guide: How to Choose the Right Hyperbaric Chamber
A step-by-step guide to buying a hyperbaric oxygen chamber. All technical figures come straight from the manufacturer specification sheets.
Define your purpose
Clinic, wellness centre, sports facility, hotel or private use? The use case sets both the seat count and the pressure class you need. Higher throughput usually points to a multiplace chamber; a single treatment room with limited floor area points to the monoplace Zeugma.
Assess your space and electrical capacity
Minimum chamber room floor size: Zeugma 5500 × 2800 mm, Atlantis 4400 × 3000 mm, Mediterranean and Giza 6000 × 3500 mm. Panorama has practically the same outer footprint as Zeugma. Add a separate technical room for compressor, oxygen concentrators, refrigerated dryer and cooler. On the electrical side the load scales with seats: a 4 HP compressor, one 2500 W oxygen concentrator per seat and a cooler drawing around 208 W at 230 V single phase, so roughly 6 kW for a one-seat Zeugma and 13 kW for a four-seat Mediterranean or Giza. The room should be ventilated and temperature controlled.
Estimate your expected volume
How many treatments do you plan to run per day? A session is 60 to 90 minutes door to door, so a single-seat chamber realistically handles six to eight sessions a day. A two-seat Panorama or Atlantis doubles that per operator hour and a four-seat Mediterranean or Giza quadruples it. Use our ROI calculator to see how volume moves profitability.
Choose between monoplace and multiplace
Monoplace (Zeugma): lower investment, smallest footprint, three 770 mm modules through a standard doorway, 1.9 m3 internal volume. Multiplace: Panorama and Atlantis at two seats, Mediterranean and Giza at four, all pressurised together with individual BIBS masks. Titan is the medical multiplace, 4+2 to 12+2 patients and rated to 6.0 ATA. See the detailed comparison.
Consider total cost of ownership
Beyond the chamber price: installation and commissioning, staff training, electricity for the compressor and concentrators, filter and consumable changes, periodic pressure vessel inspection, and insurance. When you buy through Nordic Welltech, delivery, installation and training are included.
