What Is a Multiplace Hyperbaric Chamber?

A multiplace hyperbaric chamber is a pressurized vessel designed to treat two or more people simultaneously. These larger systems are built for commercial clinics, medical facilities, sports teams, and high-volume wellness centers that need to serve multiple clients per session. Multiplace chambers deliver the same hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) benefits as single-person systems but with significantly higher throughput and revenue potential.

Nordic Welltech supplies multiplace chambers from two seats up to large medical systems: Atlantis with two seats, Mediterranean and Giza with four, and the Titan medical multiplace configured for up to twelve patients plus two attendants. All models are CE marked as medical devices under the Medical Device Directive 93 42 EEC, with ASME PVHO and PED documentation, and are built in modules that pass through a standard doorway.

Our Multiplace Chamber Range

Atlantis Multiplace, two seats

Atlantis is the entry point to multiplace HBOT: two seats, each rated to 225 kg, in an aerospace aluminium hull measuring 2151 by 2000 by 1859 mm with an internal volume of 3.8 cubic metres. It works at 2.0 ATA with a maximum of 2.4 ATA. The chamber ships as two modules that pass through a standard doorway, and needs a minimum floor area of 4400 by 3000 mm. Air supply is 450 LPM with adjustable ventilation from 125 to 400 LPM, and two oxygen concentrators feed the BIBS masks. Emergency depressurisation from 2.0 to 1.0 ATA takes 90 seconds.

Mediterranean Multiplace, four seats

Mediterranean takes four seated occupants, each rated to 225 kg. The aerospace aluminium hull measures 2926 by 1910 by 1860 mm with an internal length of 2900 mm and an internal volume of 5.8 cubic metres. Working pressure is 2.0 to 2.4 ATA. It ships as three modules through a standard doorway and needs a minimum floor area of 6000 by 3500 mm. Air supply is 450 LPM. Four seats in the same footprint is what changes the economics: throughput per treatment hour goes up without a proportional increase in staffing.

Giza Multiplace, four seats

Giza is the second four seat option. Same internal length of 2900 mm and internal volume of 5.8 cubic metres as Mediterranean, in a slightly narrower hull at 2926 by 1848 by 1860 mm, weighing 1250 kg. Maximum pressure is 2.4 ATA at 1.4 bar, or 34.80 PSI. Minimum floor area is 6000 by 3500 mm. Giza is specified with four oxygen concentrators, one per seat, which is the difference to plan for on the technical side. Choose between Giza and Mediterranean on room width, oxygen delivery and interior layout rather than on capacity.

Titan Multiplace, medical

Titan is a medical multiplace chamber in a different class. It is built in steel, works at 3.0 ATA with a maximum design pressure of 6.0 ATA at 5.0 bar, and is configured for 4+2, 6+2, 8+2, 10+2 or 12+2 occupants, meaning patients plus attendants inside the chamber. The hull measures 7988 by 2356 by 2604 mm with an internal diameter of 2200 mm. Air supply is 450 LPM, BIBS oxygen is delivered at 5 bar and 40 LPM, and ventilation runs at 600 LPM. Emergency depressurisation from 3.0 to 1.0 ATA takes 125 seconds. Plan a chamber room of 13000 by 6000 mm plus a separate technical room of 9000 by 6200 mm. This is hospital and hyperbaric centre equipment, not wellness equipment.

Why Choose a Multiplace System?

Multiplace hyperbaric chambers offer substantial advantages for commercial operations. Treating multiple patients per session directly increases revenue without proportional increases in staffing or overhead. Group sessions also create a social dimension that improves patient compliance and retention. For sports teams and corporate wellness programs, multiplace systems enable efficient group treatments that fit into tight training and work schedules.

From an investment perspective, the cost per treatment slot is significantly lower with multiplace systems compared to operating multiple monoplace units. The higher upfront cost is typically recovered faster through increased throughput.

Multiplace Chambers for Different Use Cases

Medical clinics and hospitals choose multiplace chambers for wound care, post-surgical recovery, and chronic condition management programs where patient volume justifies the investment. Sports medicine facilities use them for team recovery sessions. Wellness and longevity centers offer premium group HBOT experiences. Corporate wellness programs deploy multiplace systems to serve entire office populations efficiently.
