This randomized controlled trial evaluated the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) in veterans with treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The results showed that the group receiving HBOT experienced significant improvements in PTSD symptoms, depression scores, and psychological well-being, as well as changes in the brain’s microstructure and function compared to the control group. The conclusion was that HBOT improved symptoms, brain microstructure, and brain function in study participants.
